Prices and booking
Here's how I price work, so there are no surprises. Every quote is agreed before you pay anything.
Prices
| Small pieces and walk-ins (studio minimum) | from £70 |
|---|---|
| Script, names and dates | from £70 |
| Palm-sized portrait | from £210 |
| Half-day session | £210 |
| Full-day session, about six and a half hours | £400 |
| Cover-ups, priced from a photo of the old tattoo | from £140 |
| Deposit | £40, off the final price |
Prices depend on size, detail and where on the body it goes, so these are starting points. Send me the idea and I'll give you a firm price. For a cover-up, send a clear daylight photo of the old tattoo first.
Deposits. The deposit is £40. It holds your appointment and comes off the final price. It's non-refundable if you cancel with less than a week's notice. Move your appointment with more notice than that and the deposit moves with it.
Paying. Cash or bank transfer, please.
Gift vouchers. Yes. True Colours sells studio-wide gift vouchers, so one can be spent with me or with any artist there. Ring or call into the studio to get one.
How booking works
- Send me the idea. A few lines, where on the body, rough size, and any reference pictures. Instagram messages or the studio's form both work.
- I come back with a quote. Usually within a few days. Bigger pieces are priced by the session.
- A £40 deposit holds your slot. It comes off the final price.
- We tattoo. I draw the design up before the day, and we make any changes together before the stencil goes on.
Before your appointment
- Eat a proper meal an hour or two before, and bring a drink and a snack for longer sessions.
- Sleep well the night before, and skip alcohol: it thins the blood and makes the tattoo harder to do.
- No sunburn on the area. I can't tattoo over it.
- Wear loose clothes that give easy access to the spot, and that you don't mind getting a little ink on.
- Bring photo ID. You must be 18, with no exceptions.
- Bring your reference pictures, or the card with the handwriting, even if you've already sent them.
